An exciting opportunity has become available for a Social Care Assistant to support the social care needs of women detained at HMP Styal. You will be confident in working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment. The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality, confidential, social care duties alongside the multi-disciplinary clinical teams within the healthcare department. The post involes a range of social care duties and the successful candidate needs to be a confident individual with good communication and caring skills, with a flexible, adaptable and non-judgmental attitude together with an ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. The post holder will be based at HMP Styal but will be required to work flexibly across the site. The post holder will be expected to undertake mandatory training appropriate to their role and adhere to NHS and HMP policies and procedures relevant to the area they work in and demonstrate commitment to the principles of Equality & Diversity. On top of your basic salary, you will receive at least 27 days' holiday each year rising to 33 days after 10 years’ service (excluding bank holidays). You will also automatically become a member of the NHS pension scheme and will receive an excellent package of pension benefits which are one of the most generous and comprehensive in the UK. The post holder will be expected to undertake safeguarding training (Children and Adults) appropriate to their role and adhere to policies and procedures relevant to the area they work in.
